Grief
Anxious   GRIEF
  Back

How long does the grief process last?
Unfortunately there is no time frame
as the process is different for everyone
and as painful as it is,
it's something that cannot be rushed.

Be patient with yourself
as you experience the feelings
and your reaction to the loss.

Whether its the death of a partner,
a parent or a child, friend or a relationship breakdown,
its a journey of pain
only you can make.

Normal grief
reactions
Feel like you are going crazy...
unable to focus or concentrate..
irritable or angry...
frustrated or misunderstood..
anxious and fearful...
like you want to escape...
guilt
remorse
.... the list goes on ....

Be kind to yourself
Create ways
of remembering
your lost loved one
How can I
support others
who are grieving?
1.  Be a good listener
2.  Ask about their feelings
3.  Ask about their loss
4.  Acknowledge the pain.. let them feel sad
5.  Do not minimize grief
6.  Avoid making judgments
about how a person should be feeling
     during this time

Be silent when unsure.....

Reachout's suggestions for saying goodbye include letter writing,
attending funerals or having your own memorial service.

Reachout also suggests taking time out ... by going for a walk,
listening to (different?) music, hanging out with friends or chilling out with a football.
