Your contribution

Your contribution on site can be as simple as:

Having a shorter shower,
Switching off or at least adjusting upwards the air con temp, Adjusting the water level to suit the load in the washing machine, and drying clothes on a line and not using the clothes dryers.

On the home front Consider joining a
local community group involved in improving
your local 'community
backyard's' flora &
fauna.

In Bassendean,
as an example, there
is the Bassendean
Preservation Group

actively planting trees
and related activities.
Check out their website
and follow up on the
useful links on their
website for more details.

National Heritage Trust

Natural Heritage Trust

The Natural Heritage Trust (the Trust) was set up by the
Australian Government in 1997 to help restore and conserve
Australia's environment and natural resources. Thousands of community groups and organisations have received funding through the Trust for environmental and natural resource management projects.

The Trust provides funding for environmental activities
at a community level (through the Australian Government Envirofund), a regional level, and a national and state level.

Their new funding initiatives

The Australian Government has announced a total of almost
$2 billion funding over five years from 2008-2009 to replace
the current funding arrangements for the National Action Plan
for Salinity and Water Quality and the Natural Heritage Trust
which cease on 30 June 2008. This will continue Australia's
nationwide approach to creating a more sustainable future.
